Philip Warda is a Pianist and Composer with interests spanning from Music Production and Jazz to Piano Pedagogy. A born and raised Londoner of Polish descent he started teaching Piano at the age of 16, thanks to the help of his mother and aunt who are also Piano Teachers.
Philip is an Alumni of the prestigious London Oratory School which is known for its excellent standard of musical education. He is also a flautist and played in the wind band as well as in the church ensemble during that time.
Following school, Philip developed an interest in Electronic Music. Philip completed a Music Technology BMus in Kingston University where he was involved in many recording sessions using technology to create innovative dynamic soundscapes. He also organised and performed in a variety of concerts at venues such as The Rose Theatre, The Visconti Studio and POSK (The Polish Cultural Centre). He completed his degree by composing an EP of solo electronic music.
Philip became interested in Jazz thanks to lecturer Meredith White, he went on to study further with Tim Richards and Alcyona Mick, and then moved to Paris in 2017 to study Jazz Piano Performance.
Philip decided to expand his teaching methods and undertook the Piano Teachers Course UK run by EPTA. This perfectly aligns what he’s noticed as the underpinning difference in Theory vs. Aural training. This is the same course Marta completed a few years ago and this is why Philip is very excited to join MMQ Piano Studio and use this brilliant teaching philosophy.
